Owner & Artistic Director
Kelsey has been dancing for over 25 years and her teaching career has been thriving for almost a decade. She is the proud Owner & Artistic Director of Connections Dance Collective and also works as a freelance teacher and choreographer in Guelph and the surrounding area. Kelsey has a broad background in a variety of disciplines, including hip hop, jazz funk, jazz, acro, musical theatre, modern, lyrical, and contemporary. In her youth, she competed across Ontario, winning many awards and scholarships for her charisma and performance quality, specifically in urban styles. While attending university in Hamilton, Kelsey was a member of the McMaster University Dance Club as well as the Director of the McMaster Dance Company. In her professional career, she has been the proud recipient of many choreography and special awards for her uniquely themed routines and dedication to teaching true hip hop movement and culture in her classes. She is a certified Zumba and and Acrobatic Arts instructor and is known for her lightheartedness, humour, and warm nature.
Born and raised in the small town of Ayr, Ontario, Nicole began her dancing career at the age of 3 in Paris, Ontario. Over the years, Nicole travelled wherever her love for dance took her, from Burlington to Kitchener and ended her competitive career where she started, in Paris, Ontario. Over the years, Nicole gained experience and completed exams both in Russian and RAD Ballet. Nicole has also trained under the professional hand of Miss Paula Morgan of L.A. Miss Paula has her own technique which consists of three levels and Nicole has been training and working with this technique since the age of 10. She has also travelled and performed with Carnival Cruise Lines.
Nicole’s students have competed at numerous national competitions, achieving many titles with her choreography. Nicole a fully certified ADAPT teacher and a member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance.
Sophie has been dancing for over a decade and is proud to have trained with Miss Kelsey for 7 years. She started her dancing career as solely a hip hop dancer and has since expanded her catalogue to include almost every classic style including jazz, ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, and musical theatre. She has also been assisting dance classes for multiple years. Over the past few years, Sophie has developed a love and talent for choreography and choreographed multiple unique pieces. In 2019, she entered the Young Creators Choreography Challenge with a hip hop small group in which many of her fellow CDC peers participated. Sophie is currently studying Software Engineering at the University of Guelph and is beyond excited to be spending her free time at the studio.
Meet Miss Sara - our resident acro Queen! Miss Sara will be working with not only our acrobats this season, but also our tiny pre-schoolers and youngest hip hop dancers. Sara is a natural-born leader and role model. Dancers who have trained under Sara will know her unique blend of passionate motivation and humour make every dancer want to push themselves to be better. Sara has trained in a variety of styles including jazz, ballet, acro, contemporary, and hip hop - and somehow manages to excel at them all! She is proudly Acrobatic Arts certified and excited to continue sharing her knowledge with our dancers again this season.
